Sunday, members from the Tennessee Wedding and Events Specialists Association, TWESA, volunteered a full day helping Habitat for Humanity construct a home for a new owner. Arriving before the sun rose, boy is that a hard task for these night owls, many of whom had functions until midnight or 1 in the morning a few hours earlier, we gathered for a safety and orientation session and then we were given our tasks for the day. Most painted the rooms and ceilings, some us hung kitchen cabinets while others tolled in the mud hanging Masonite siding.
This was the largest build day to date, 15 houses and TWESA had the largest work crew turn out record! Go TWESA!!! Another record we broke was hanging kitchen cabinets in an astonishing 90 minutes, the norm was 4 hours. We also had the best meals as we gave away our hot plates of tacos to neighboring work crews. They were just too cold to eat their deli sandwiches. Beside, being in the hospitality industry, we were delighted we could share our food with others.
Despite the cold and the horrible mud, we had a great time, got to meet new friends and renew old acquaintances and we helped the community with providing another family with a new home!

Only TWESA would think to bring a floral arrangement for the sign in table! LOL
It was all great fun
